Reid Is So Popular It's Not Even Funny

This is Reid and his new buddy, Grant. Reid has been making friends at a church play group we have started to attend. Yesterday we went to a place called Discovery Gardens which is kind of like a fancy park. Reid actually had a really good time, and it was so fun to see him with so many other kids around his age. He proceeded to make friends by, taking other kid's binkis and putting them in his own mouth, crawling all over them, and laying on their blankets. Not unlike the way Nate and I make friends...

We stopped on this grassy hill, so I let Reid roam free. It was hilarious because he would crawl all the way up the hill, and when he tried to come back down he would trip and roll. He's not really used to crawling on a slope. I can tell you this though, he loved me letting him crawl wherever he wanted, he was so busy that this is the only shot I could get of him. Needless to say, he slept the whole ride home.

Reid Makes Big Messes....

Reid just loves those frozen berries, and I just love that I have have coupons for Oxyclean. If you look close, you can see his bottom teeth poking out. The top ones are almost in as well.

Like I said in an earlier post, Reid just thinks his dad is hilarious even when Nate has been at school since 7:00am and is exhausted. Can't you just see the lack of sleep on poor Nate's face? He has been working so hard in school and at work. Reid and I are sooooo proud of him!

Horray For Family!

So this past week Nate's parents and our Niece Crystal came for a visit. We had so much fun! I think Reid had the best time though because he got so much attention. Now that they have left he is going through some serious withdrawals. We spent three days In Salt Lake City, did a lot of shopping, and ate way too much food. Yep, that's pretty much the format of the best vacation ever. Especially the food part. yum.

Reid has become an expert at clapping when other people do, so whenever an act ended Reid clapped with the rest of us. It was really cute.

This picture looks like I snapped a cute shot of Reid playing in the grass, but what you don't know is that Nate was behind me making him laugh. Reid thinks Nate is hilarious, and he seems to be the only one that can get Reid to smile for pictures. Usually Reid just stares at me like, "what's that shiny thing attached to your eye mom?"

We are in the process of stealing Reid's cousin Allen's cool baby tricks. This one is whenever someone says "touchdown" he raises his arms up. This also works for "all gone" and "yaaay."

I just thought this picture was funny. He looks very suspicious of something to his right.

Exciting Adventures

Reid and Grandma. Reid got tired of sitting, so Nate's mom decided to let him stand up. I almost peed myself when I noticed, until I realized that she was holding on to his hands, and he had a killer time so all's well that ends well.

Here's Crystal and I checking out a replica of the sleeping quarters that those immigrating to the United States slept in. Not as comfy as you might think. Especially when you consider that they were on a boat, and what if the guy above you got seasick. Or worse yet, what if they were too heavy and fell right on top of you. Yikes.

This is the view from the top of the conference center. We are blocking all of the good stuff.

This is the inside of the conference center in SLC, and it holds a whole lot of people...I don't remember the exact number because I tend to zone out on tours. Also, I'm bad at remembering numbers. Also, I get easily distracted by shiny things (Like the gargantuan pipe organ).


Here Reid is getting a ride on dad's shoulders in the conference center. The funny part about this picture is that at this precise moment Reid peed through his diaper, and Nate spent the rest of the tour asking me to smell his shirt and tell him if I thought other people would know that he was wearing pee pee cologne. No wonder I forgot all of the numbers...

Today is Reid's cousin Audrey's first birthday, and Reid has a little message he wanted to share. You have no idea how difficult it was to keep him from eating the sign...

Nate's New Hogg!!!

So, we have some transportation issues now that we only have one car and I would like to get out of the house during the day. Our solution? Borrow a sweet hogg from Nate's boss. Just take a look at this baby. This ride is an electric scooter that can reach speeds of up to 25 mph. Also, it came with a purple helmet. If only you could hear the horn. Nate is a little hesitant to ride it partly because he feels a little foolish, and partly because people drive like maniacs here and there is a good chance he might die. We are actually really grateful for it though because it doesn't cost anything to run, and I can have the car during the day. But seriously, I wish you could hear the horn.

Reid tried some frozen raspberries for the first time; not his favorite. I think they were a little sour. What do you think, Reid?

Worst Picture Ever

OK, so I debated for a long time whether or not to post this horrific picture of Reid and I, but at long last I decided to let you all see me at my worst. On Thursday I went hiking with a girl from church and her daughter who is only a few months older than Reid. Other than the fact that I had to carry Reid the beefcake baby in my front pack carrier, it was really fun. Reid had a fabulous time, and was so intrigued by the scenery that he hardly made a peep. Also, I discovered that Utah is not as ugly when you're in a nice little canyon. The background (which is much prettier than I am in this picture) reveals that there are in fact trees in this area. Who knew? Also, later that night we had a barbecue at our house with 5 couples from church. All of them were new, and I had really only met one couple before Thursday night. It actually turned out to be really fun. I would have taken pictures to prove to all of you that we really do have friends, but it's kind of weird to say; "Nice to meet you for the first time. Can I take your picture and put it on the internet?" So, all you get is a picture of me after a hike looking like some kind of a red-faced doll. Lucky you. Look at those manly legs. Thanks a lot, Dad. =)
