Fun Facts With Reid Tulett

FACT #1: Reid still loves bath time, and is an expert at soaking me and the bathroom floor.

FACT #2: Reid has an exciting new vocabulary amongst all of his jibber jabber. He can now say the following words, and he seems to know what they mean: Mama, Dada, Grandpa, car, (his favorite) cold, bite, apple, helper, (he says it when he helps me put his toys away...so cute!) shoe, achoo, Jack, (The little boy that I watch) up, hi, (he says this one a lot) ball, (his favorite toy) Coco, (the name of the character in his favorite book) and here's what makes him a TRUE Tulett...he loves the word "poop." That's right, the other day he smelled pretty bad and I said, "Reid, did you poop?" and he said, "poop?" and it's all over now.

FACT #3: I am slowly but surely getting him off of his binki. I have gotten him down to using it only when he sleeps...horray!

FACT#4: He's cute as can be, and I feel so lucky that I get to pal around with him all day!

For: Grandma

So, Grandma wanted to post a picture of Reid in his Huskies warm-ups...very exciting. It's a bit big on him, but a nice tribute to the UW.

Longest Run Ever...

So I finished my 15K yesterday, and it went really well. I ran just over a 10 minute mile (which is pretty slow), but not too bad for 9.3 miles. The exciting thing is that I finished...yay. And the other exciting thing is that I feel pretty prepared for the half marathon, so that's a good sign. I didn't take the Reidster this time because it was supposed to snow, and that's a long way to push him! Nate has been so wonderful during all of my running. He has been more than willing to keep an eye on Reid during my long runs, and has encouraged me the whole way. What a good hubby!

Head for the Hills!

So, our lovely friends Ben and Jessica invited us to go on a drive into the mountains with them and another couple today. It was so much fun! We saw deer, Turkey, and Elk, and the snow was SUPER deep. Nate and I had a race across about 4 feet of snow. It was hilarious because we were trying to run, but we kept sinking in up to our knees. Also, it was great because I won like the running champ that I am =)

Here is Reid and Jack getting bundled up to go. SIDE NOTE: Nate hates Reid's hat, but I love it. OTHER SIDE NOTE: Reid is wearing the Huskies jacket Grandpa Lilley got him for Christmas. That is why he is in purple. Horray for The Huskies!

Mommy & Reid. SIDE NOTE: Reid's gloves were in the wash, so....yes. He is wearing socks on his hands.
Jessica and Jack the chubster.

Reid trying to walk on top of 4 feet of snow. Luckily he was light enough that he didn't sink in. He still had a couple of face plants though!

Ben dug a hole...and jumped in. That is all.

Holding hands with daddy on our way back to the car. So cute.

My Valentine's Day Present: Horatio & Camilla

Yep. Here she is, in all her glory. My Valentine's Day present. Before you jump to conclusions, let me explain. So, for the past several days this rooster (who I have named Horatio) has been standing outside my bedroom window and cock-a-doodle-dooing Reid and I at 6:00am. Not so fun. So before Nate left for school on Valentine's day he found that Horatio has been sleeping in our fire pit for warmth. So what did he do? He shoveled it full of snow. Problem solved. It was the best present ever. Also, we have no idea where he came from, or why he lives in our yard (Horatio, not Nate).

Here is Horatio with his lady friend who I have named Camilla. She's a little hard to see, but she is behind Horatio and facing the camera.

Here is a good shot of Horatio. If only we could have him for dinner...

P.S. My OTHER present was a movie at the dollar theater, a book of primary songs, and a new bag. We are not really big V-day people, so we kept it low key. And solving the rooster problem BEFORE 6am was the best present anyway. Thanks, Nate!

2 Down, 2 To Go!

So, I ran my 10K on Saturday. It's 6.2 miles, which isn't really that bad. I have run farther than that during my training, and my pace is suspiciously similar to that of many of the other runner's "warm-up" paces. I made it though, and only slightly over my goal time. I took the reidster with me again, so I didn't expect to win or anything, because I would have... Actually, I have found that I am not that much faster without him, but it's a nice excuse. =) Anyway, the weather was nice, and I am looking forward to my 15K in two weeks, and my half marathon in April! I have yet to run that far...ever...I hope I make it.

Sometimes Reid Runs Into Things...

So this shiner came about when Reid was running through the house at full speed, turned back to look at me and then turned around just in time to smack into the corner of the wall. Ouch. He cried for a bit, but after we stripped him down for bath time he was a lot happier (see post below).

Give me that camera.

WARNING: nudity

So, Reid is the funniest kid ever. He LOVES to run around naked. Before his bath we strip him down, and by the time we get his diaper off HE is off. He runs around the house at full speed like it's the funniest thing ever. I didn't get it in this clip, but he usually likes to stand in the doorway and dance too. It's so funny. I hope it's not creepy that I'm posting this...it's pretty much a full-frontal shot. It may be a boring video for some, but it's slapstick comedy to me. Tee hee. Reid will thank me when he's a teenager.

Nate Got A New Job!

So Nate just got the best job ever. It was such a blessing. The previous company Nate worked for decided to close their doors and Nate found himself out of the job. Fortunately, the week before Nate had applied for a job with the company above, and ended up getting it. It is very exciting because he will basically be an engineer's assistant. He will get to use what he is learning in school as well as have several years of experience in his field when he graduate. They are offered to pay him more than his previous job, they specifically wanted a first year engineering student, and they were excited that he had some experience in the field. We are so happy about it!
