for wanting to do this again. I guess I'm hooked. I thought to myself, "why not do the whole thing?" And now I think I'm really stupid because I signed up for this thing on a whim, and now I have paid my entrance fee. Now I have to do it. And now I have announced it on my blog, so I REALLY have to do it. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!!!!

13.1 Miles
I finished my half-marathon! I can't even tell you how wonderful it was! I had such an amazing time, and I actually ended up way under the time I was going for. I averaged just under a ten minute mile the whole way. That certainly isn't a winning pace, but I was really happy. A lot of it had to do with the fact that I was HAULING for the last three miles. I really wanted to get in below my goal time. Also, it was around this time that the winners of the marathon passed me (we met up with them towards the end so we could finish in the same spot) and it was so inspirational. They were just amazing. They ran six minute miles the WHOLE way, and the last three miles were even faster than that. I instantly got a huge burst of energy. I highly recommend running something like this to anyone who wants to participate in one of the most fabulous confidence boosters of all time. I just loved it!
Nate got this bird's eye view of me in the last half-mile. It was so neat to have people cheering for you! Also, my form is really not this bad, but I had my jacket tied around my waist, and it was coming off, so I was trying to fix it.
This was after we got home, because the pictures that Nate took right after the race are maybe the worst of my life. No seriously. Even this one is questionable.
There were so many people there! They told us that 12,000 people were participating, and that's only the runners! It was a mad house, but so much fun, and I got a free banana out of the deal, so alls well that ends well.

Gettin' Down in SLC
So I found out that I couldn't pick up my number and time chip for my race on race day. Bummer. Good news though, it gave Jessica and I a chance to frolick (and I am really serious about the frolick part) around Salt Lake City AND pick up my race packet the day before. We had so much fun! Really random and hilarious things always happen to me when I try to be adventurous. For example: I unintentionally ended up with $10 in change, and I got to see how NOT to give a tour at Temple Square. Also I made the parking attendant VERY unhappy...on so many levels. Oh, my life. What a hoot.
Jack and Reid on the little stand where newly married couples stand to get their pictures taken. They look a bit confused about that... you'd think it would be enough that Reid tries to kiss Jack all the time. Sorry Nate and Ben.
