I finished my half-marathon! I can't even tell you how wonderful it was! I had such an amazing time, and I actually ended up way under the time I was going for. I averaged just under a ten minute mile the whole way. That certainly isn't a winning pace, but I was really happy. A lot of it had to do with the fact that I was HAULING for the last three miles. I really wanted to get in below my goal time. Also, it was around this time that the winners of the marathon passed me (we met up with them towards the end so we could finish in the same spot) and it was so inspirational. They were just amazing. They ran six minute miles the WHOLE way, and the last three miles were even faster than that. I instantly got a huge burst of energy. I highly recommend running something like this to anyone who wants to participate in one of the most fabulous confidence boosters of all time. I just loved it!

Nate got this bird's eye view of me in the last half-mile. It was so neat to have people cheering for you! Also, my form is really not this bad, but I had my jacket tied around my waist, and it was coming off, so I was trying to fix it.

This was after we got home, because the pictures that Nate took right after the race are maybe the worst of my life. No seriously. Even this one is questionable.

There were so many people there! They told us that 12,000 people were participating, and that's only the runners! It was a mad house, but so much fun, and I got a free banana out of the deal, so alls well that ends well.

Great job! I am amazed at your willpower to push yourself so hard. I could take a page or two from your book.

AWESOME job Carlee!!!! That is amazing... I hope to do that someday too. Way to set your goals and accomplish them!
One day when I'm not pregnant or breastfeeding, I will be doing that! Everyone I've ever talked to who has ran in a marathon or half marathon, talks about what a great feeling it is afterwards.
I am so jealous I would love to feel good enough to just get outside and go for a walk!
Great Job!!!
