Thanksgiving Road Trip

Way back in September I thought it would be a really great idea to drive over to Spokane to visit Nate's sisters and their families for Thanksgiving. As the date approached I was thinking that maybe 12 hours in the car one way was a lot for my little family, but we did it, and it actually wasn't too bad. We also had a ton of fun when we got there! We passed through state lines like 5 times each way, and I was determined to take pictures of each "welcome" sign, but it was dark for most of our trip, so Idaho is all you get.

The Captain

The co-pilot (doing my best Jay Leno Impersonation...is my chin really THAT pointy?!)

The passengers

Our first day there we swam--Reid's dream come true. You should have seen the monstrous FIT he threw when we got out. Yikes.

Reid and Carter had fun chasing each other around

Auntie Denise showing Linkers how to be a cowboy

The day after Thanksgiving was Reid's third birthday, so we left Link with Denise and Jerry, and took Reid and his cousin Allen to Chuck e. Cheese. They had so much fun!

Nate's sister Corrine made Reid an AWESOME cake for his birthday. Reid specifically said that he wanted a "chocolate bear cake" for his birthday, so this is what she came up with. Amazing, right?!

The bear was a little soccer player, so cute!

Reid was a little more interested in the balloons than his presents I'm afraid...

Cousin Allen helping Reid open his presents.

I LOVE the weird-o look on his face!

Watch out for Kaylee!

This is my "I can't get this ridiculous packaging open" face.

I can't believe my baby is three!!

We had tons of fun, and can't wait to go back. Thanks for having us auntie Denise and uncle Jerry!

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

New Family Pics

I think they turned out pretty well. If you're interested in the photographer (she was wonderful!) here is her blog: http://www.photosbywendyg.com/ she does all of Utah county/Salt Lake county. This is just the first few she edited, but what do you think? I know, I know, Reid and Nate have the most HILARIOUS fake smile ever, but I still think they're cute! (Also, I chopped my hair off. Oh, and also I have been messing around with my blog layout...BIG changes here at the Tuletts!)

Twins?

So many people have said that Reid and Link look alike, and I think for me it's kind of like moms with twins, they are so different to me that I don't see it as much. So, I thought I would put two pictures of them together when they were the same age. They are both about 6 1/2 months here. Other than Reid being roughly TWICE links size, what do you think? Alike or no?

What did he say?

Reid has been saying the funniest things as of late, and I keep meaning to write them down. I thought my blog would be as good of a place as any, so here is a little snippet of what comes out of that crazy boy's mouth:

The other day I put on a long sleeve purple shirt, and he said, "mom, are you a wiggle?" For those of you who are NOT familiar, (you're missing out) see above photo.

I can see the resemblance, can't you?

Also, the other day Reid was talking to himself, and this is how the conversation went:

ME: "Who are you talking to?"
REID: "The ghost"
ME: "what did he say?"
REID: "he's hungry"
ME: "for what?" (not human flesh I hope...)
REID: "yogurt"
ME: "oh, well that's good because we have that..."
REID: "yea, he also wants me to get off the stairs because he lives on the stairs"

I have to say I'm a little creeped out by this one. I'm hoping it's because we rented some Halloween books from the library, and we spent the other afternoon making sugar cookies in the shape of ghosts...I'm really hoping my house is not haunted. Yikes.

And finally, in the car today Reid announced to me:

"mom, when I'm nineteen I'm going to go on a mission, and I have to go by myself, and you're going to stay here, and you're going to cry."

Yes, I will cry or sure. I can't even imagine my little boy growing up...

Sunday Leaves

After church today we went to the park and took some pictures in the leaves. I'm no photographer, but these are some of my favorites! I love fall!
