Our Crazy Little Guy

Reid has discovered that he likes to look at things upside down. So what you see here is a pose I get quite often from old Mr. Blue eyes. Oh also, Reid started walking a couple of weeks ago. We were all just sitting in the living room, and he just took off from the table to the couch. We were so excited! Although walking is still not his preferred mode of transportation yet, he will have it mastered here shortly!

So here, Nate is giving Reid a ride on our giant rubber duck. Reid is clearly having a killer time, and Nate (as usual) is providing the sound effects. I don't know what compelled Nate to turn the duck into a car, but I think he though to himself, "Reid has already had a ride on the chicken train, so why not give him a go on a duck-mobile?"

Carving Pumpkins

So we had to carve the pumpkins we got from the farm. I did the bat on the left, and Nate did the one on the right. We were so excited and proud of our pumpkins, but we neglected to take into account the fact that we live in a warmer climate...and they rotted in less than a week. Sadly, Nate's spider and the head of his cat have fallen into the pumpkin...happy Halloween. Actually, they will probably be the scariest pumpkins on the block.

Fall Fun!

So, this last week for family home evening we all went to this farm that had all of my favorite things; a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, a hay ride, etc. We all had a blast. Fall is my favorite season because of overpriced activities like these! (Actually it was pretty inexpensive, which was nice!).

We saw some pretty exciting animals. Like this gazillion pound pig. Sadly it had a sign on his cage that said, "pork, the other white meat." That's like having a sign on the outside of your house that says, "heart attack. It will get us as soon as we fatten up for thanksgiving."

I thought this baby cow was really cute.

We saw some goats. Goats kind of freak me out because they have horizontal pupils, and they seem really eager...a little too eager if you ask me. Like they're going to run up behind you and ram you in the back side when you're not looking kind of eager.

This goat didn't look so bad. He seemed a little angry though.

The Corn Maze

So one of the more fun parts of the farm was the corn maze. It was six acres and a little intimidating. When we first went in Nate said, "I'll let you pick which direction we go because I think I would get us out of here in 10 minutes." I got us to the middle of the maze, and told him that he needed to get us out...a half an hour later we were still lost...some sense of direction Mr. Confident. Luckily, it wasn't one of the ones where people jump out at you, so we still had a great time.

This one is a little better, but getting Reid to look in the direction of the camera when there are so many fun things to eat is a big job...

In the middle of the maze there was this big slide, which didn't look too intimidating from the ground, so I let Nate take Reid.

Then I got to the top and realized how STEEP it was and I felt like a really bad mom. As you can see from this picture, I am flying low here.

Reid in "The Corn Box" I think this video is funny just because Nate COULD NOT keep Reid from eating the corn, so this excursion lasted only slightly longer than this video.

The Chicken Train (and other funtivities)

Reid and I on the Chicken Train. That's right. I'm in a cart shaped like a chicken and pulled by a tractor. It was amazing.

Reid on the hay ride. If you know Reid at all, you know that it is nearly impossible to keep him from putting things in his mouth. Here he is with an endless supply of hay. You can imagine how well I was listening to the tour guide and checking out the scene on this ride. (For those of you that haven't had the pleasure of meeting our handsome young man, the answer to the question regarding how much I saw of the hay ride is; not much. I was constantly pulling hay out of Reid's hands and mouth.)

And here we are in action on the chicken train. It wasn't really that exciting, but for some reason the picture is blurry, and the sound of the tractor in the background makes this seem like an old home movie.

Mom's Big Helper

So, I had to post all of these because they are just so cute. Our laundry is downstairs, and it is very difficult to carry Reid and a laundry basket upstairs at the same time. My solution? Put Reid in the basket first, and pack all of the clean clothes around him. He loves it! Nate wasn't even standing behind me when I took this picture, Reid is actually having a good time. He even put that sock on his head all by himself. Ok, I put the sock on his head, but HE left it there.

Reid loves to carry this duck around the bathtub like a little puppy dog.

Here is another one of his puppy dog qualities...I have no idea why he's doing this, or what he thinks he will find . Maybe he buried a binki in the bathtub while I wasn't looking.............
