Well, so far I have kind of stunk at keeping my new year's resolution to be more bloggy, but I don't feel bad because January and February have been very busy, so here's what we've been up to:you know how a lot of my pictures of Reid have been kind of overshadowed by "the bink?" (see picture above) Well, I decided to get rid of it during the day, and I let him have it at night. BIG change, but he has done GREAT, and he doesn't even ask for it anymore.
In other news: when we got back from Washington we had Reid in the tub, (one of his favorite places) and our shower head came crashing down on him. It was HILARIOUS at the time because it didn't hurt him, but it scared him so bad that he freaked out and jumped out of the tub and ran around the house naked and screaming. Unfortunately, it kind of scarred him, and as you can see from the picture above he wouldn't even stand in the tub fully clothed for fear of the shower. That's a problem, because let's face it, kids need to bathe.
I called lots of people for advice, and Grandma Tulett suggested that we try bubbles. So, we started calling bath time "bubble time" and dad would fill the tub with bubbles and sit in the tub while Reid stood there and played, but he still wouldn't get in.
Then after a few days of this, Reid finally got in, but wouldn't sit down. After a few days of this he would sit down but ONLY if dad was in there too. Fortunately, he has finally come around, and once again enjoys the bath by himself...but ONLY if we call it bubble time. Silly boy. Whew! It was a long and painful process! I never IMAGINED that something like this would be part of being a mom!
Next up on the docket: Big boy bed. I decided that Reid needed to be comfortable in one before little brother gets here, so we got this little beauty. I let it sit in his room for a few days before I decided to attempt the switch. I cannot believe how smooth it was! We got this right after we got home, and he hasn't fallen out once! It has really been a breeze! (which is rare, because Reid likes to make things difficult sometimes...)
I just thought this was cute. My two cooking and cleaning domesticated guys. I just love modern society...
The biggest news of all (and the most time-consuming) is that I decided to take the plunge and potty train. We started one week ago, and went cold turkey. No diapers of any kind, (except at night) only big boy underwear, and we set the timer so that every 20 minutes is "potty time." Boy has it been a tiring roller coaster, but I have to say that after a week he generally has no pee accidents all day long. The hard thing now is that he has only pooped on the potty a couple of times, and doesn't enjoy it, but he has done amazingly well and I am SO proud of him! My friend Jessica is doing this same method with her little boy, and is a few days ahead of me, so I have had a lot of support from her. It's nice to have someone a few steps ahead of you to show you the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks, Jess! So, that is where I have been these past few weeks. I have been too worn out to do much else. Reid has really grown up a lot lately, and I find myself really missing my little boy! I will keep you all updated on how the potty training is coming along!

Great job Carlee! That sounds like a method I would like, cut and dry. I'll keep that in mind in a year when we start with Ethan. How are you feeling? Do you have names picked out the for next little guy?
I missed reading your blog and seeing your beautiful family. Great job being a mommy!
Carlee amazing job on the potty training I will have to call you Carson is ready (or when I am ready:) Also love the bath story that is so funny and I am sure Nate loves the picture of himself in the tub:) Hope all is well and hope you are still feeling well I will be there in Utah the 1st 2nd 3rd of April and would love to do dinner or lunch with ya guys.
P.S. Carson likes to make things difficult too:)
Thanks for updating your blog so we know your not dead or anything. :) Sounds like a busy couple of months though for sure! Good luck with the potty training!! Reid is so stinkin' cute and he is getting so big, I can't believe it!
Yeah...you updated. How can one appropriately blog-stalk you if you don't update? Cold turkey is really the best and easiest way to potty train. Messy, but effective. Yeah Reid.
love the bubble picture of nate and reid. You guys have the same underwear as us! Oh and I love the toddler bed, where did you get it? Oh and Jack hasn't has a pee pee acident for four days and he pooped twice yesterday. I now take him potty once an hour and he goes every time. I am finally able to breath a little.
So glad you've got a bath photo of Nate. ha ha ha. How'd you get him to pose for that? Knowing it'd go on the blog...you're amazing.
those pictures are scandalous and offensive... liberal!!
Congratulations on the potty training, I thought it would be much more difficult than it actually was but I also waited until Paden was three!!
By the way Nate is a brave man to pose for you in the bath tub...too funny!!!
April
i am so impressed with all of the accomplishments you guys and reid have been accomplishing! (i couldn't figure out a better way to word that, my brain is fried). anyway, good job, hopefully it makes the transition with the new baby easier!
Long time now see. And Reid is getting so tall and thin. I can't believe it's been like a year since we left Provo. I'm such a sporadic blogger, but I love the updates. And I've never said Congrats with the little brother almost here. And Dang girl you look great.
