Running
I am relatively new to running. I was a sprinter in high school and college, but I have only been running distance for the last couple of years. I have always felt like I was at a disadvantage because I am not really built like a traditional marathon "runner," but I have recently realized that I have been holding myself back, and I can be better than I thought! I didn't take any pictures because I was by myself, but on Saturday morning I ran my fastest 5K ever! I was so excited because I had a goal to run the race in 25 minutes. It's not fast, but it beats my previous 30 minute 5K, and I did it! I kind of had this epiphany at the end of my race, (when I was exhausted and sucking wind) that my goal of finishing my races isn't enough anymore. Now I have to push myself to my limit and work on bringing my times down instead of just crossing the finish line. Anyway, it was a great feeling to accomplish my goal, and I'm excited to work on lowering my mile time in my upcoming races. Over the next couple of months I have signed up for a 10K, a 15K, a 25K, and I'm doing the Salt Lake half marathon again in April. Sooooooo if there is anyone who wants to run any of these with me I would LOVE the company! Here's to pain!
