Halloween (sort of)

Halloween was a little weird for us this year. We carved pumpkins, and we had costumes and fun activities all planned out, but we never went trick-or-treating.

Unfortunately, my nephew, Garrett (the one with cancer) was working in St. George when he developed a pretty severe blood clot and was admitted to the hospital there. Well, his sister, Katrina and I were the only family in the area, so at 1:30 in the morning we hopped in the car and took off. This happened to be Halloween weekend, and Nate had an all day test in Salt lake City, so we passed the kids around to different baby sitters the whole weekend while Katrina and I stayed with Garrett.

I felt pretty bad leaving my kiddos alone on Halloween, but Link won't remember, and Reid absolutely HATES dressing up anyway. Some friends of ours took the boys to the church trunk-or-treat Saturday night where they ran around and passed out candy. Still fun, right?!

Anyway, Garrett is fine, and after 2 days in the hospital they released him, and he's home with family now. Phew. What a weekend!
