Reid's Birthday Buddies

Yaaaay for Snow!

We had a bit of snow on Saturday. It was really exciting, but my friend Jessica and I have been training for a half marathon, and Saturdays are supposed to be our long runs...we didn't make it that far because it turns out that running in snow is suspiciously similar to running in sand. We were pretty exhausted by the end.

Grandpa Visits for Thanksgiving!

Grandpa Lilley came to visit us for Thanksgiving so we wouldn't be alone for the holidays! We had so much fun. Grandpa was Reid's favorite toy, and they were best buds all week long. It's still awfully cold, so we bundled Reid up in this adorable snow suit from Grandma.

This Thanksgiving I was determined to make all of my dinner from scratch. I made stuffing, glazed carrots, mashed potatoes, rolls, and a turkey breast for dinner, and pumpkin pie and cheesecake for dessert. Everything turned out pretty well actually (except for the rolls. I need help in the bread baking department). So, my first Thanksgiving dinner went OK, even though I only fed three people...and Reid. It was still a fun experience, and we have leftovers for the next month. Nate and my Dad were very gracious and ate everything...and even told me it tasted good. What a couple of good guys.

For Reid's birthday Grandpa got him a new car seat so he can now face forward! Yaaay. Thanks Gradpa, Reid is sooo excited to be able to face the world with the rest of us in the car. The only downside is the fact that he can now throw his toys on the floor...and at me.

Birthday Presents: Our Little Slugger

As many of you know, Reid will be a year on the 27th. So, for his birthday his Great Grandpa and Marylou sent him his new favorite toy. He was a little more interested in the paper than the toy, (mostly because Marylou drew some amazing artwork in the paper) but he has become a master at using the bat and pressing the buttons. Look out baseball because here comes Reid.

Party Tricks

Here are Reid's latest tricks for all to see. We stole most of them from his cousin Allen, but we claim them as our own. Who needs to teach him how to say "milk" and "more" in baby sign language when sports affiliated signs are all he'll really need to know for the future. Also, he started shaking his head "no" when he doesn't want something. I have a feeling that this is the beginning of the end...

It's Getting Cold in Provo!

So, Reid and I have been going on runs together early in the morning, and because it's started to get a bit chilly, he gets to bundle up nice and warm. I think he looks so hilarious and cute when he's wearing his winter hat and coat!

Happy Halloween!

So we decided to make Reid a chicken for Halloween...I'm not sure what our obsession is with birds this year. The costume was hilarious, and Reid really didn't seem to mind wearing it. The only hard thing was that we had a ton of family pictures taken earlier that day, and they took a couple pictures of Reid in his costume, so he was a little pictured-out and costumed-out by the time I got to take my own pictures, so they aren't very good. I had a really hard time getting Reid to sit still, and I didn't get any shots of the feet. They were hilarious!

This was outside the mall. We took him to get pics taken, and then we went trick-or-treating in all of the stores. As you can see by the look on his face, he is very worn out. Poor little guy.
